I was part of the 1972 batch. I see a note by Nirmal on this page who I believe was my classmate. I fully endorse what he has written. I joined in the 3rd Standard and left in 1972 (ISC).
Miss Dewan was my first class teacher. She was one teacher who had never come a single day late in her entire working life. Miss Briganza in the 4th std, Miss Dsouza in the fifth,Miss Tarapore in the sixth, Ms Pimenta in the seventh and Sir Dhavle and Miss Mathews in the senior school were all excellent teachers. Hindi was one of my worse subjects but Sir Gopal and later Mrs Suri made it so interesting that eventually I scored more in Hindi than in some of my science subjects!
I would love to establish contact with ‘Nirmal” aand would be grateful for the admistartors to pass on my email id to him or his email id to me.

I was interested in an earlier comment provided by Nirmal. I believe he was one of my classmates I have been desperately trying to contact for the past few years. I would be grateful if the organisers of this website would be kind enough to send me his email id or send him my email id.

I joined Hutchings in the 3rd standard with Miss Dewan as my class teacher. She was dedication personified and I remember when she retired the principal mentioned she had never been late on a single day. Miss Briganza in the fourth standard and the wonderful Miss Obed in Class 5 and the two teachers who made a great impression in my life Miss Tarapore and Miss Pimento in class 6 and 7. Besides in the senior school Mrs Mahableshwarwala, Miss Mathews,Sir Dhavle who all made learning interesting. Mrs Samuel was a family friend and kept everyone on their toes. She was a great person her daughters taught us at different times during my time in school.
I am glad the school is still doing a good job and wish them all the best.

I want to also recap some of my best memories at Hutchings, after i graduated in 1976. I cannot forget the good old and valuable memories from those days. Our principal, Mrs. Samuels was a very tough principal but a great person. I also had Mr. Dhawle for Chemistry and some of the teachers mentioned in the blogs above. My most favorite teacher in the lower grades was my piano teacher. I will never forget what Hutchings has provided me and especially where it has taken me in the US now for the last 25 years.

I have heard about the displine of the school. I wanted my son to be alrounder, so I wish to take admission in your school. Due to my husband’s tranfers, we have changed many schools. Now, I wanted admission for std. 9th, so that he can complete his education upto 12th in your school. I have already submitted my application. My son is not only good in studies but also in sports. He has achieved many prizes both in studies and sports. He has Gold Medal in Olympiad Exam in std.6th and stood 6th in std.7th. I am expecting your call. Thank you

I have heard lot of praise for the school. I want my son to get admission in class VI. The school site is silent about admissions except nursery or Kg.Pl tell us the procedure for admission in class VI.
